NICHE Kanyakumari Marks 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour & Green Initiative
The Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kanyakumari, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic spirit. The celebration began with Vice-Chancellor Dr. Tessy Thomas hosting the National Flag and receiving the salute from the NCC Army and Naval Cadets.
Registrar Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan delivered the Independence Day message, recalling India’s journey from 1947 to the present day and the remarkable progress achieved in sectors such as agriculture, economy, technology, education, and international relations. He urged the youth to actively contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat 2047, fulfilling the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor honored the NCC Cadets by presenting badges and certificates to those promoted. As a symbolic gesture of the 79 years of independence, NSS and NCC volunteers planted 79 trees on the campus.
The event witnessed the presence of university officials, NSS officers, NCC coordinators, staff members, and students. The celebrations concluded with vibrant cultural performances by the students, reflecting the unity and pride of the nation.
